Anyone know how to stop the peel & Itch?

AFF'ers, I was so sunburned that I am in misery right now peeling and itching...any ideas how to stop this? It has been a while since I have been in this predicament...I always kept a tan in Florida.

Aloe vera gel is the best thing I know of. I think Aveeno makes a bath soak product also. Good luck, that is miserable!!!

It's gonna peel because the skin is dried out. When you get a sun burn you need to keep the skin moist. That might help the itch too, but if not take an antihistamine if you can

Aveeno is great. Made with Oatmeal which naturally is anti itch

Rhoni, I didn't see you at the late service today. You must have gone to the early one. We had a different speaker: Bishop Samuel Smith from AWCN. They both spoke on the same subject: The rich man and Lazarus.

OH it must have been the sunburn. lolololol

You might try Claritin in the day time as it does not make you drowsy

IF you feel like getting out and going to the store....there is this blue gel called ICE. it has aloe vera in it also. it is GREAT!

AmazingGrace 09-30-2007 10:37 PM

I know you are probably long gone to bed by now but if you happen to read this try vinegar. I thought people were nuts when they told me this but I tried it and it kills the itch! Mix it w water 3 parts vinegar and 1 part water

Ron 09-30-2007 10:40 PM

My mom always used Noxcema Skin Creme on us growing up!
It cools the skin and helps the itch.

Sherri 09-30-2007 10:43 PM

You shouldn't have to spend much on these products since I'm sure the burn only comes up to mid calf, and from elbows to wrists. :killinme

Actually, I'm sorry you're burned. The back of my neck is burned right now where I forgot sunscreen in Costa Rica, and it's very painful.

Stay out of the sun.

vinegar can help some to take the burn away.

Re: Anyone know how to stop the peel & Itch?

I have tried to avoid wearing sunscreen, but it just doesn't work. Last week I didn't put on any sunscreen, but when I got home I felt a burning sensation all over my face. I was even so careful not to go out in direct sun light. I would say play it safe and supplement it by wearing sun protective clothing and using Aloe Vera cream.

believe it or not a cool bath with vinegar added. May make you smell like a pickle but so what. It works.
