this is not to undermine , down grade anyone. a lot of this was from way back in the day or an extreme fringe but hilarious nonetheless.

I had a friend who went to a youth were they had panty checks for the girls to see if they were wearing anything "sensual" Ron

even their suitcases were checked

Ladies - No shaving legs or armpits

No "sexy" underwear - boxers and briefs only. (Bikini, hiphugger, hi-cut, silky, lacy, designs, etc. all were OUT)

I don't know but i know there was a church that did not allow the women to wear lacey Bras either

the pastor's wife taught that the devil could attack them with a Sex spirit or a spirit of adultry

Many years ago, I went to church with a lady that abided by the "no shaving" rule.

Yet she wore short sleeves around town, on the job, at casual church events, etc.

The armpit hair was so long that it hung out the sleeves. It was gross and she reeked.

And the leg hair was long enough to be seen from across the room. A BIG room.

Nobody knows what kinda bra I wear except me and my hubby. And we're gonna keep it that way!! :sshhh

I have a family member who's mother went to a church that did not allow members to go to a doctor



The women had to use a Mid wife to assist them in giving birth

Whatever....

BTW, I see nothing funny about gossip & borderline slander. I see it as sin, actually. The whole reintroduction of Thad's Tab has caused me to begin to do a search on the subject - truly amazing how much scripture warns against it...

what was the reason for this Rule ???

Usually there was some kind of preaching on how the devil could creep, etc. but this one I cannot understand at all just like the NO DEODERANT RULE!

BUt what if you're church taught it and the pastor's wife came over for " house inspections " to make sure spirits are not creeping into your marriage ?

At the church that didn't allow Doctors, they were forbidden to use anything that had the word " medicated " on it such as " medicated chapstick" medicated soap" etc .

this could lead to "Sorcery "

I honestly do not know. It was a rule on its way out of this particular church when I arrived. Few abided by it. I never asked the reason.

The pastor at the time was a lady.

I could speculate that it may have had something to do with adornment seeing as other things were very strict in this area as well.

I know in our section they use to check the female's belongings for PJs and sweats

And if people think this is Thad making up something....he is not. This has actually happened...on a number of occassions.

When the preacher starts looking under the sister's skirts in order to get a message, it's time for that man to step aside! Read the Bible dear Christian, the marriage bed is undefiled according to Hebrews! So, I guess when the preacher begins to meddle under the sisters skirts, it shows a serious problem with that man's prayer life!

we had a neighboring church who checked the saints houses for TVs and VCRs


this pastor is no longer there - I think they thought they was protecting the sheep ??


Also, the pastor's wife went thru the closets to decide what could stay and what had to go as far as their wardrobes (ladies)

Yup.

Shaving, in the opinion of some, helps a woman to look sexy. I do recall people, other than the pastor, saying that God put the hair there so why shave it?

Same for eyebrows...God put em there, why pluck em? They said the only reason for plucking was for self adornment.
