This just in, hot off the presses!

Just got a phone call, disclaimer-I will retract if proven wrong.

Larry Booker, BJ Wilmouth, Steve Buxton and Clifford Clark have all turned in their cards, I asked for confirmation and the source seem reliable. This will cause some reverberations in the Western District for sure.

I have preached for all 4 of them.....I believe it but I don't believe it...if it is true, then I am sure they'll do just fine....if it is not true, then I am sure they will do just fine....

Scott Hutchinson 10-01-2007 08:33 PM

Are there any new AMF applicants ?

Do you agree with this, or do you think they should stick it out. By the way I have met Larry Booker and find him to be a great guy.

Wilmouth was on staff at my home church, so I don't have an ax to grind.

I have talked personally to two of them, the other I don't know, but I agree they will be fine and I think with the change of districts they most likely would have been a minority.

Truth is that there will be a bunch of stuff said about a bunch of people....it is prudent to wait for the dust to settle before you believe anything...then after that, only believe half...

Reliable sources are the most unreliable sources on the face of the planet....if you really want to know for sure, I am sure their numbers are still the same as they were in the last couple of directories...even if you aren't UPC, you should be able to call any number of your UPC preacher friends to get them...

We have found out some of the most ridiculous stuff being said about us...even by family members...LOL! I think those cousins should call us more often and maybe they wouldn't be lying so much about us....

This seems more of an open statement than just letting the card lapse by not renewing at the end of the year.

Would this be accompanied by a letter of withdrawal containing a statement that no fees, pledges, etc. would be paid as of a certain date?

One organization that I withdrew from I mailed in the license and fellowship card.

Another organization I just did not renew. Then when I received a reminder from the local secretary (or whoever) that I had not paid my dues, I sent him a letter stating that I had not paid my dues because I did not intend to renew.

A couple of things make me believe it, these guys tend to be friends, run together and the source is someone out of their area, so he would know. But I agree, that sources not matter what can putter out, thus my disclaimer.

Good for you on going right to the ones being talked about!!!!

I do not fault them for leaving...I left!

My feeling is that when the org. or denom. no longer suits the purpose of furthering the vision in your heart for the church...then you have an obligation that church to shift somewhere else.

According to my source, they mailed it in with a letter, thus most likely to make a statement of their disapproval of the direction the UPCI is going.

Renda,

He and Dearrah were ultra-conservative. It doesn't surprise me a bit.

Keith, what I think about what these brethren do is really immaterial.

I too, know, Bro. Booker and Bro. Buxton and whatever path they choose I am sure it is with much prayer.

I will add that there is a meeting being called the first week of Dec. at an unnamed resort area for men to get together to discuss fellowship.

IMO, if this is true, it probably has as much to do with the district split as the resolution. They would probably not be happy with the new district policies if everything goes down the way most think it will.

I know that they run together and stuff, but I just know from experience that things can be said by people who really seem to be "in the know"....and they are not...and it makes me very sceptical of the he said/she said conversations.

There are people who have been shocked to find out that things being said about us by "family" in the District is absolutely false....I had one preacher friend (not UPC) call me and ask if everything was ok......come to find out one relative was on the campgrounds saying that we were DIVORCED......LOL!!!!

It was believable because surely this cousin would know....we have not seen or spoken to this cousin in YEARS!!!! But I guess everyone in the OK UPC (and where ever else this lie has gone) thinks we are in deep marriage doodoo...when we are happier than we have ever been! And no one has bothered to call us and ask if it is true....

I heard the same thing. One of our close friends was invited to come. He said he might go but was not interested in forming another organization. He was not against them doing it but he had no desire to join anything.

Can I ask a question and this is without an agenda,if a man was ordained or held a gen.licensed in another org.would this be recognized if one was applying for AMF. credentials ?

Old Paths 10-01-2007 08:55 PM

IF it was a Oneness org. would help.

Yes bro, we are not divorced and very happily married....yet they have had a field day telling whoppers on us....

pentecostisalive 10-01-2007 08:58 PM

If this is true, it will probably be the first of many people that will leave. It is unfortunate, but it is a fact. Many people are now reconsidering their relationship with the organization. I hope for the best in all of this.

I do know of a number of people leaving, though I will not mention names.
