On this day, Sunday, October 4th, 1981 ...

A Sunday school teacher, after teaching on faith, asked her students to fill out one petition they had that only God could answer. Each student did as instructed. Then, the students and teacher prayed with faith over them. A young 8 year old boy wrote his heart's desire - to be filled w/ the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

That evening, at a simple altar, in a storefront church in the Bronx, New York, a weeping boy's lips began to stammer and then began to speak a heavenly language.

His petition was answered. He was endued w/ the power of the Holy Ghost that flowed in the heart of this enamored child.

Thank you Lord for your power, everlasting love, tender mercy and grace.

Thank you Sister Carmen Nolasco for praying w/ me.

It was a precious and special day ... One I cherish even more today. I am a Pentecostal.

but how could it be my "birthday" if I wasn't water baptized until November 8th?

I was only 2/3 born again on October 4th *wink*

I see you did pick up on my gentle smiley! :D

Maybe you were screaming and yelling all the way down the birth canal or perhaps you were a dry (I put still in error) birth or maybe you have always been confused!:D

Good memories Dan. Do you think this good sister had any idea of the "force" you would become? I have learned to wait a moment to reply to your posts until I hear the "other shoe" drop!!!

It's kind of slow on the board today, so I thought I'd share my experience on that very same day, October 8, 1941...

That was the very day I met BOOMM - believe it or not, small world! The two of us had signed on with Chenault's Flying Tigers, seeking adventure in far off China. Because the "Religion" field on our dog tags read "Miscellaneous/Other" we were assigned to the ground crew along with the Sikhs, Animists and Moravian Brethren.

I spent "the duration" sprinkling saw dust on fuel spills out on the tarmac while BOOMM was earning his screen name as the lovable but clumsy munitions clerk.

Most of my memories are clouded by malaria and dengue fever; but what a great time we had.

Was it the dyslexia or the dengue fever? I dunno. I just wanted something delusional up for when BOOMM get home tonight. :wacko That, and I'm still mad at DA for calling me a "lib."

I went to Boom's profile and his age is 43, so I know something was askew. So what year was it? Oh, you said it was a delusion.

mizpeh 10-04-2007 10:35 PM

So, Dan, how many years have you been sealed?

RevDWW 10-04-2007 11:25 PM

I'm happy for you! Be blessed!

Re: On this day, Sunday, October 4th, 1981 ...

My spiritual birth date is March 28, 1955. At the age of 17 I asked Jesus Christ to come into my life. He did come in as the Holy Spirit and made me a new creature.

October 27, 1955 I was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.

May 20, 1956, Pentecost Sunday, I was baptized in the Holy Spirit at Bethel Tabernacle (UPC) in Racine, Wisconsin.
