Sister Alvear 10-06-2007 10:37 AM

From Mother Alvear

I am so sorry I have not been in touch. We are in "Arkansas with my sister. I see the hand of God moving in a great way.
Thanks to those that are helping with our tickets. The travel agency gave us until we return to pay so we knew this alone was a sign God wanted us to come to be with my sister.
In all the years on the field only one time have I ever come home because of a death but I felt God wanted me to come. Sometimes there are people that only certain people can help and I have felt that is one of the reasons we are here.
Going so far in debt did not seem such a good idea considering our health for such expensive tickets but one soul gained for heaven is worth more than all earth's riches.
Please do remember us in your prayers. Thank you for being a part of our big family!

Are you Catholic?

I guess it is from this:

1Ti 5:1-2 KJV Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren; (2) The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.

This is true, and Deborah was called a Mother in Zion...it is a term of respect and Mother A is WELL deserving.

Black folk are big on this title for their elder ladies that are highly respected. Not saying Sis Alvear is an elder lady, though. :sos
