Steadfast Conference - Indianapolis, IN - Taking place this week

Steadfast Conference will be taking place this week. (Oct 18-19, 2007) The speakers are Paul Mooney, Bill Davis, Johnny Godair, and Arlo Moehlenpah. The link to the information is http://www.indianabiblecollege.org/steadfast/

I have watched it online in previously years, and it is a very good conference with plenty of information. You should be able to view it online at http://www.calvarytabindy.org

Everyone would benefit from watching this conference.

I just wish they would rename this conference for what it is. It should be called the "Hold The Fort Conference".

SDG 10-13-2007 06:37 PM

Will JG promote his new org?

It could be called, "Hold to Biblical Truth Conference", or "Preparing for Heaven and Taking People With Us Conference"

Someone people don't like the conference, because they don't like absolutes. This conference teaches the Biblical Idea, that there is only one way to be saved, and that is Acts 2:38. This conference might offend you if everything is relative to you.

I was wondering the same thing. I was also wondering if anyone will mention the Resolution 4.

Yep, and the application of getting into the Way, Truth and Life is Acts 2:38. You must be baptized into Christ, and you must receive the Spirit of Christ. To get into (or even see) the Kingdom of God, you must be "Born again of the water and of the Spirit"

You can't minimize Acts 2:38 with that scripture. Jesus came and his Death, Burial, Resurrection (The Gospel) is applied with Acts 2:38. Without that, you will be eternally lost.

When is JG preaching?
I want to tune in and see if he says anything

Whole Hearted 10-13-2007 07:25 PM

Brother JG always has something good to say.

RevDWW 10-13-2007 07:49 PM

So Brother JG doesn't mind being web cast, but being telecast is a sin? Does that seem inconsistent to anyone?

Nope, It doesn't. Nobody said, "Being telecast is a sin".

Sherri 10-13-2007 07:57 PM

How can you have a Steadfast Conference and AFF's own STEADFAST isn't even preaching??????:noidea

Ok then let me rephrase it:

So Brother JG doesn't mind being web cast, but would leave the UPCI because someone else wants to televise their message? Does that seem inconsistent to anyone?

Ok..... Now for the answer...........

Nope. They are different mediums, and serve different purposes.

I see you brought up the typical false conundrum old time Pentecostals always seem to use.

You act as if all of your extra biblical legalism are "absolutes" when they are in fact a man made laundry list. Much of it from convoluted applications and extrapolations of scripture.

The word of God is NOT "relative" but the absolutes it teaches are many times principles to be applied by Christians and that application can be relative. For example in Victorian England a woman with her ankles showing was considered immodest but not in just about any Pentecostal church today.

chaotic_resolve 10-14-2007 12:34 AM

Interesting . . . IBC is a UPCI-endorsed school, and they're bringing in a guy who's leaving the organization.

RevBuddy 10-14-2007 01:34 PM

:stop It's not Pentecostisalive...by smug attitude, it is "Pentecost Incarcerated."

BeMoreLikeHim 10-14-2007 05:59 PM

Chaotic, do we have prove that JG is leaving UPCI? I haven't heard that he is actully leaving at this point. I think this is only speculation.

pentecostisalive 10-19-2007 06:39 PM

Steadfast conference is LIVE right now. Bro. Chance is teaching about Holiness. Bro. Godair should be next.

pentecostisalive 10-19-2007 06:45 PM

Bro. Chance just finished. (I only turned it on at the end. Bro. Godair is next)

SDG 10-19-2007 07:03 PM

30 second moment of silence of Apostolic pioneers of the faith .... lights turned down.... posters illuminated of some of the giants ... Haywood and Goss ... were among the posters. Does Mooney know they thought Trinitarians were saved?

I had to laugh a couple years ago watching that conference.

They had that giant picture of the first General Board of the United Pentecostal Church up there.

Some preacher got the crowd - and especially the young, impressionable Indiana Bible College students all fired up in typical pep-rally style by pointing to that picture and hollering:

"We promise to stand for the same doctrine and standards these dear old elders stood for!!!"

I'm sure the kid had no idea that at least half of those "dear old elders" in that picture believed that one was saved at repentance. :pirate

SDG 10-19-2007 07:30 PM

He's spent the last 15 minutes reiterating the PAJC Oneness view ... like the crowd needs to hear it again.

SDG 10-19-2007 07:32 PM

Godair will preach on Sunday ... Why I have never was and never will be a Charismatic. And is proud that he's older than the Charismatic movement.

They were born in the 1950's ... "I don't want a 1950's religion!"

Good grief, SH, people are watching it on the internet. Isn't that "as bad" or worse than watching it on television???

Ummmm my guess is NO. I am almost sure he is willing to bet none of the students know that. The do not teach that in Bible school.

Like Jeff Arnold says, Gymnastics for Jesus. It only takes someone saying the right words to pep up a crowd but in the end did the person have anything to say really?
