Tomorrow Is "D" Day!

Tomorrow is "D" day as in "Dan" (NYLP) & "DQ". They are flying into our fair city tomorrow night with another couple.

Once they land and their chauffered limo picks them up they are heading right to a restaurant with a goofy name to meet CC1, Pianoman, & St. Matt for a late night dinner.

While this 9:15 pm dinner is the norm for old time Pentecostals like them it is about three hours later than normal for Charismatics like Pianoman and myself.

St. Matt is more of a conservative so this will probably be like a Sunday night supper for him.

If Pianoman and I can stay awakw we will try to remember to gossip and speculate about each and every one of you!

St. Matt won't of course because of his responsibilities as an admin but I am sure he will smile, and knowlingly nod his head as we solve the problems of AFF, Pentecost, and the world.

I will start sharpening my pencils now and will be taking notes to make sure I do not miss any of those monumental moments when one of the great questions in life is answered by all of the wisdom that will be present.

I would say that Dan probably will be filling all of us in on what is going on here at AFF. He is the man in "The Know". :D

Usually at 9:15 PM, my brain enters the first level of shutting down for the evening! By 10:00 PM I have reached defcon 3 with only enough conscienceness left to walk to the bedroom and crawl in bed!!

Please pray saints that I have enough caffeine in my system to carry on a conversation without my eyes rolling back in my head! :D

I don't know what to think of these young whipper-snappers and the hours they keep!!!!

By the sounds of this, I might ought to bring my portable embalming set up...at lest that way I will know you will be in an upright position for the occasion!

We leave for the airport in about 3 hours....
Looking forward to seeing you goons in person....

Matt,
The infractions, the bans, the deleted threads, the ignored phone calls....yea all will come to naught!

LOLOLOL

Later...DQ is having a "packing" attack!

NLYP

rgcraig 10-19-2007 07:53 AM

NLYP - hopefully, you will be more alert than when I met you guys! It was also a late dinner and I believe us oldies were more alert than you young thangs!

Well, I have already had to bail out on this night of festivities. My wife is out of town for the weekend, and when I got home, my daughter was sick. :(

Yes! It was a planned set-up!!!!! I might need to pack some heat! :D

CC1 10-19-2007 06:53 PM

I think that St. Matt was concerned that with the great 80 degree weather we are having all us libs would show up wearing T shirts and shorts and he would be bllinded by all of the white showing!

Only Kidding!

CC1 10-19-2007 07:06 PM

NYLP called me from the airport in Memphis where they were waiting for their connecting flight to Nashville not long ago and he is very disappointed he will not be meeting St. Matt in person.

JaneEyre 10-19-2007 07:08 PM

Are NLYP and DQ coming to Nashville on official business? I think you misspelled his name or I did.

LOL!!! You are right. I think I transposed the letters thinking subconsciously of New York.

We had a wonderful dinner this evening with NLYP his lovely wife DQ and a great young couple that made the trip with them.

After a short time it became clear that if we all were king of the world we could solve all the problems!

We talked about each and every one of you AFFers so that should explain your ears burning earlier tonight.

Since it is "D" day.... We want Detailed Description of the Dialogue Discussed.

We discussed the weather in Louisiana and Tennessee and the layout of the La. District Campgrounds. Since there are no interesting things going on in the UPC or old time Pentecost in general right now there was really nothing else to discuss. (where is that halo symbol when I need it?)

Then NLYP tried to rebuke Pianoman and myself for being PCIers in doctrine. I think he was trying to impress his friends that were with him but we fought back by sprinkling Charismatic dust on him.

SoCaliUPC 10-19-2007 11:29 PM

Excellent!!

CC1 10-19-2007 11:33 PM

Dan did mention the angst he is going through trying to decide whether to stay with the UPC or join the new conservative org. that most think will spring up from the Tulsa meeting in January.

SoCaliUPC 10-19-2007 11:36 PM

Dan could be their Media Missions Director.

ROFL!!!!

CC1 10-19-2007 11:43 PM

Dan did ask a very profound question.

"Is Elder Epley really short?"

To which Pianoman and I answered in unison "Yes!".

(that is one of the reasons I like being around Elder Epley. He is one of the few people I know who makes me feel tall)

It would have probably been more appropriate to break into a chorus of "They've wandered so far away from you, Lord! the need to come home." Or "I'm coming back to the heart of the Gospel and it's all Acts 2:38, oh it's Acts 2:38"!:pirate:pirate
