The cardiologist called today

He wants to schedule my mom for a heart cath on Thursday based on the results of a stress test he just did on her. Please pray that whatever is the problem, it can be fixed without more invasive surgery. A stent would be fine :)

Thanks!! You all are the best!!!

Your mom is in my prayers, Margies3.

And, as a hopeful cause for optimism- I underwent the same procedure a little while back. It was painless and actually a comfort- I had been unable to sleep for weeks leading up to it so when the conked me out a little bit- I was out a lot, and it felt good. And, they said I had "beautiful arteries."

I was fortunate. I'm praying that your mom's goes as well as mine did.

Ok, folks. Mom had her heart cath today at MUO Hospital. Everything went well and she is now resting at home. The doctor said that her grafts from her bypasses still look good. and there are no real obvious big blockages that he could bypass at this time. He said that her arteries are all diseased and that there are little 'pockets of clots' all over the place and so her arteries are narrowing from that. But none of that is something he can bypass around.

He said that her heart is pumping well.

He checked her pressures inside of her heart and she has good pressures, so he will not put her on a water pill of any sort. He said to do that would do more damage than it would do her good.

He said that at this point he is going to treat her with medication. He added another med today which she is to take for the next 30 days. We'll see how she's doing at the end of that. If need be, he'll try a different med, but he's hoping this one does the job.

And he wrote her an order to go to Cardiac Rehab at the hospital. We don't know yet how often or for how long. His goal is for her to lose at least 10 lbs in a very controlled and monitored environment.

So that's the news. Thanks for praying. I know God answered prayer :)
