Nope, that was the name of the church! Quite a mouthful.

"Cities of Refuge"


The Cities of Refuge were towns in the Kingdom of Israel and Kingdom of Judah at which the perpetrators of manslaughter could claim the right of asylum; outside of these cities, blood vengeance against such perpetrators was allowed by law. The Torah names just six cities as being a city of refuge: Golan, Ramoth, and Bosor, on the east of the Jordan River, and Kedesh, Shechem, and Hebron on the western side.

When we come to Christ, our sins our wiped out and remembered no more...coming to Christ is like finding safety in a City of Refuge!!! :santathumb

Ours was named Maranatha Tabernacle when I came to God, now it is called Maranatha Ministries!

I have always thought of that name since I was a teenager but our church (the one where I pastor) end up using the name Limay Christian Family Center. It shows the focus of our ministry...

Here is a great name: Capital Community Church check it out at www.capitalcommunity.ca I hear they have a music director that looks like a monkey!!!! Kewl!

My church's name is New life Pentecostal. we fellowship with a church named Tabernacle of truth. oh and one of our preachers is now pastoring a church called the lighthouse
