Rev R. this brings up something I questioned as well. Why dis-affiliate just dropm your card and quit fellowshipping the heathens.

Not really surprising. People have strong, heart felt convictions in the area that compromise was made in.

Isn't there a UPC magazine that publishes the names of ministers who no longer have a membership card/turned in their license in?

...oh, I forgot for a minute there who I was talking about. I suppose there will still be the one or two mentioned.

there were 2 gatherings over the weekend were a lot of preachers were gathered i had friends and family at and that's what the talk was.

Let me say this, this is NOT 100 PASTORS

some of the churches have perhaps a dozon licensed preachers in them alone. some are lay preachers who follow whatever the pastor does.


also, some preachers left because they are mad about a southern CA dist forming

HAHAHAHA!!!! Isn't that something. They no longer feel "in control" with the rest of their fellowship in the valley. Actually, it is not surprising considering when some of those valley people moved down here, they stopped fellowshipping altogether (section events, etc.).

Them leaving is probably a good thing.....there is such a revitalized spirit of unity happening down here....the likes of what has not been seen in a long time.

And, have some gone to the district boards to be allowed to vote in UPC churches now? (Boy, did their Resolution 3 backfire on them!)

I was told by someone who just got through spinning and was DIzzzy that the choir that is WAY out there will be needing a new leader and the People cooking the BbQ will be needing a new cook. THus there will also need to be some added to the Music association Board because one of their peeps will be MILES away Under a ROCK somewhere. That is why THAD may be asked to be the new Board Member.

There are meetings taking place on the organization of the SoCal District. There was more interest than previously thought and had to get a bigger room to handle everyone. So many want this to be a unified district and it looks that way. With some of the people who have opposed every single function now leaving...it takes away those that want no fellowship whatsoever with people who do.

The general impression I am hearing and seeing is that people are beyond thrilled the formation was approved.

Thad....you are losing your contacts in the new region.
