Dear Bishop/Sen. Pastor/Int. Pastor/Ms-UPCI Tattletail(if I forgot a title,sorry)

Dear Interim Pastor of the local UPCI aassembly,
Let me just start by saying, thank you. I must admit I was furious with you this past Friday night. That is when I heard of your darkroom antics of calling and having my visisting evangelists license yanked. I will say that God most certainly works in mysterious ways. Who would have ever thought He would have used you to do His will in the lives of the people that came to our crusade. From what I understand you are supposed to be here for only 3 months. If you are going to continue helping us like you did this weekend I most certainly hope that you become permenant. Between your pull in the district and your sidekick's reputaion in the community, we might not have to do very much to bring the people in to be ministered to. Think of this as a place you can help build a new work. You may not see the results,(because we are on the blacklist and you aren't allowed to fellowship with us)but there will be results of your work here. Such good results we might even dedicate a wing of our new church to you. That is all for now. Again thank you for all your hardwork!!!

We should have it up on youtube in the next couple of days.

That guy is great. I don't think there was a person in service that didn't like his preaching. And the way the youth were praying at the altar made us proud.

Thad 10-30-2007 11:06 AM

AGAPE 10-30-2007 12:27 PM

Yes, he was fairly liberal in practice in the last 10 years or so, though personally he probably was conservative in his personal beliefs.

We often had videos played via projection screen and had some Passion of the Christ clips played with an almost naked Jesus during the Easter service. Only like two families out of a 200 member church didn't have TV.

Most of the women on the platform trimmed and dyed their hair. I played guitar for 10 years in that church and we basically had a rock sound on many songs. I am talking screaming guitar and all. I am sure he watches youtube himself after all he announced in church about watching general conference on his computer.

am I the only one who doesnt know what church y'all are talking about LOL

It was frowned upon. But a lot of folks tried to do it in ways that no one would notice. A lot of folks even went to the movies. :reaction

Of course, me the biggest charismatic of them all, never went to the movies and my wife still wears skirts and doesn't cut her hair. I did go one week without shaving when our son was born so I guess I am full blown charismatic.

I remember one time we had a play and some men grew beards for the play because it was in biblical times. I said something to a brother and he said "Well pastor said it was ok for this play" and I said that sounded like hypocrisy and a double standard..or something like that. He walked away dejected lol...but I was kidding.

We all know this facial hair stuff is an organizational standard. It's NOT biblical

Funny story. Its actually about delta guitar. We had a visiting evangelist. An african american evangelist. He had a very short beard. Preacher was awesome. Facial hair is not allowed at that church. Never has been. Okay no problem. Delta guitar decides to make a funny to the wrong guy. The guy looking for any and every little thing to through at the pastor. If the evangelist can do it i guess I can to. IT WAS A JOKE!! A week later in one of the first meetings to get rid of the pastor DG gets brought up as an example. I can laugh about it now but I wasn't laughing back then.

But what you don't know is that I told that with the purpose of :stirpot. Boy did I ever. I also said many other things to these folks to further get them to blow up. They completely self distructed.

Two months later we were in a different church and a split church and a huge family feud. See, DS and I knew we would never leave that church because of the respect we had for our parents. God worked a miracle to get us out of that church. God used the bad things other people did to perform the greatest miracle in our life. We were spinning out wheels and not doing anything for God other than preaching to the choir. Now we are in a revival minded church and the PEACE is amazing.

So, i am happy. I have all of my friends, my parents, and one of the coolest churches on the planet.

All of that from a little comment about an evangalist facial hair.

:shockamoo

Your wish might could happen based on our conversation. Interim Pastor has to call DS and get him to invoke resolution 3 on the permanent pastor! Problem solved! Church grows and the only question is, what do I have to do to get a wing named after me?

Oh well after all is said and done I love the great state of MS.

My my, sometimes its so hard to understand why things work the way they do.

Its about people and if you do not have a full understanding of how to lead them and/or love them, then shame on you for calling yourself a pastor.
