Willie Nelson in trouble again

I thought it was too much to read that Willie Nelson was pulled over by in
Breaux Bridge,Louisiana by
the highway patrol and in the bands bus was a pound of marijuana and some
psychodelic mushrooms. The whole band it reads pled guilty and that way
they got off with a misdomenor. If one person would have copped to it they
would have gotten a distribution charge. Will Willie ever grow up>>>?????

From a moral standpoint ole Willie wasn't hurting anyone but he did break the law and will probably have to pay a fine or something. The punishment seems fair.

I just don't think it is some huge problem or that he can't stay out of trouble. He smokes weed, it is against the law in this country and so he will pay the fine when caught.

If a woman wants to be a striper that is her choice as long as she is old enough to consent. However, that doesn't mean that it isn't sinful or damaging to her or her family. But as an adult she has the right under certain laws to make money with her body.

I keep hearing more about mushrooms lately from kids and such. I guess they are making a comeback, . . . maybe they never went away. I don't know.

Trouvere 11-01-2007 07:47 AM

Poison making a comeback? wow I hope not. There are people walking around with empty heads now due to mushrooms.

Aren't all drugs poison? Where we live meth is a huge thing and you can't get much worse than that.

meth is bad here too. Is Heroine making a comeback or am I just out of touch?

We have a young lady that has been coming to church faithfully that has been heroine clean for 96 days. Came off cold turkey. Her boyfriend told me the story of them being in a hotel room and getting thru the severe withdraw stage. What a horrific experience.

I don't know. I have almost no knowledge of drug culture. We had a young person coming to our services that kept me up to date but he is locked up now.

Of course. Legalize it, regulate it, and tax it. What is wrong with this? Drugs would become cheaper, violent drug related crimes would go down, prisions population would decrease, and we could finally help people for their problems instead of throwing them in jail.

Just plain common sense.

Not really. If alcohol and nicotine are legal, there is no reason that marijuana shouldn't be legal as well.

The long term ramifications would be astounding.

this is not the solution at all

I WISH. Seriously, I have never tried drugs but most folks I know (in church and out) have smoked weed and don't consider it a really bad drug. I was just making the point that at Willie Nelson's age I don't think he is changing so let the man SMOKE IN PEACE.

not over reacting brother just discussing it with you. Don't read to much into it.

Weed is addicting...not for sure how good that is.

You sound like a REPUBLICAN now. The same things were said during prohibition and there are less people as a percentage of the population drinking now than then.

Here is an article by a conservative group showing that prohibition was a failure.

No moreso than caffeine. Actually, less so, since it is not physically addicting.

Kutless 11-01-2007 11:09 AM

wonder if anyone can provide a link showing the benefits of THC?

I use to be on the side of you and DG and i still think that much of the war on drugs is a smoke screen by the gov't. They could stop a lot of these drugs from coming into our communities if they really wanted to.

however, after i heard and read up on the consequences of what legalizing drugs would do the future generations, it is eye opening! you think society is bad now???? socially and spiritually, it will become much worse. It's a very dark spirit that would we would be caving into.

I'm sorry i'm not as specific as you (or I) would like on this topic. I would have to brush up on it . perhaps someone else can articulate the points against it with clarity and validity

So is porn, alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, playing poker, and biting my fingernails but that doesn't meant it should be illegal. I just have a hard time with legislating morality.

As long as someone else’s drug use doesn’t interfere with the pursuit of life, liberty, and of happiness of others then they should be allowed to live their life responsibly.

The state of California seems to think it is beneficial, seeing as how they allow small quantities of it for medicinal purposes.

I think cocaine was legal up until the first part of the 1900s. You could also smoke weed as long as you bought a stamp and paid the tax. Most folks who want to do drugs in this day and age do it anyway.

I am way more worried about Hillary's health plan than legalized drug use.

Howq is caffeine a stretch? It is just as, if not more, addicting than marijuana. And I agree with Delta, the government shouldn't be in charge of telling us what is morally right or wrong. They shouldn't and couldn't be expected to do that.
