Back in Nov of last year I had the honor of meeting Jonny and talking with him for about an hour after a concert in Knoxville. He goes to church with my Pastor's brother out in CA. The concert rocked and then after the show he cancelled all of his speaking arrangements with media to speak with myself and my pastor about what God was doing in his life. I've followed him from the mid nineties. In 2000 I saw him in concert in Jackson MS. He was great. That night I had a dream about him. I was in my church playing his music over the pa system. I woke up thinking wow, one day he is going to rock the world with his music about Jesus Christ. The day his cd came out last OCT, I sat down in my soundbooth in my church and listened to the entire cd over the house system. I almost cried thinking about the night I had that dream.

Jodiah91 11-07-2007 12:32 PM

Although I am an equal opportunity listener, some of my favorites are:

Aerosmith
Matchbox 20
Rascal Flatts
Def Leppard (I'm a child of the 80's!)
Kutless
Creed

I also like (even thought they aren't 'bands')

Justin Timberlake
Gavin DeGraw
Michael Buble
Yolanda Adams
Crystal Lewis
Donnie McClurkin
pretty much any black gospel choir

Jodiah91 11-07-2007 12:34 PM

Oh and I almost forgot. . .LOVE U2!! They are right up there with Aerosmith for me. . .:bliss

My favorites in no particular order.

Switchfoot
Audio Adrenaline
DC Talk
Tobymac

Was going to be my top ten, but I had to throw Michael English on there, he has been a long time favorite. The list could actually go on for quite a while, but those are definitely my tops.

You are completely right. A couple of years ago I got to see some cool acts at a local bar. :reaction It was a few hours after the Peavine Awards had concluded at the Delta State performing arts center. Me and deltaguitar sat over in a booth away from everybody and watched Little Melton, Ike Turner, and many more blues greats walk by our table on there way to the stage to perform. Even Morgan Freeman popped in to say hello. Sometimes I forget all the talent and heritage that has come out of the MS delta.

Nahum 11-07-2007 01:39 PM

Chicago

Boston

Imperials (80's)

Pastor G 11-07-2007 01:44 PM

My high school band was pretty good... lol

They did a jam up version of the theme from "Rocky" and Herb Alpert's "Rise!" lol

HangingOut 11-07-2007 01:46 PM

I can see that most are clueless, well maybe not.
Best American rock bands:
Journey
Kansas
This is when rock/pop was at it's height

British, Mmmmm, little harder to pick,
YES would be up there.

I have not heard any of his music, but I am sure he is good. I am from Knoxville funny you would mention that. Famous people are hungry for God too.
