Brother Bennycasa this is for you...

I am an avid reader of your postings, however it only lasts about a minute or so before I need to move on.

I saw a bumper sticker the other day that said, quoting someone famous...

I like your Christ
but I do not like his followers
because they are not like Christ.

I would like to suggest that you remove, "In Jesus Name" from your signature, because certainly not every time you put your fingers to the keyboard is what you say representative of something Jesus would endorse or even be proud of...

Frankly, I find it insulting and close to taking the name of the Lord in vain.

...and God bless you too by the way.

SDG 11-23-2007 05:33 PM

Sheesh.

There is something on the forum called PM (private message). I don't see why you would/should single out someone so rudely. It says alot about the type of person you are.

This thread is so uncallled for. RUDE!

I love the Benster!!! His post are always heartfelt, many times humorous, sometimes they sting, but he always makes a point. I don't always agree with him, but I sure do root for him!!!!

Remember, Carp called out DA too in some kind of OK Corral thread, so it ain't nothing new.

Carp is cool, he just punks out once in a while...itsallgood!

He can dish it...these 2 can take it!!!

TK Burk 11-23-2007 08:53 PM

Ever watch an artist use a chain saw to make an ice sculpture? They use that loud chain saw and throw all that ice as they work. It seems that all they're doing is making a mess of a perfectly good block of ice, but then in the end, surprisingly, there is a beautiful work of art. Benincasa is like that. Sometimes it may appear he is making a mess. But if you'll step back, with an open mind and Bible, and give him time, you’ll find that he was creating a great work after all.

A friend of mine said that men never get as mad as when you tell them the truth. Maybe that is why Benincasa is so often misunderstood? :winkgrin

Keep up the good Word Elder Benincasa!!! :yahoo

Ahhhh, there is the problem. :sos No wonder you don't get what EB says.

simplyme 11-23-2007 09:54 PM

I don't get it., except that it is not nice to broB.

The post is a curious mix., reminiscent of something/one the Bible refers to as "double minded".

AND I have seen that this poster is but one of many threads that are equally rude, starters, so what else is new?

BroB, btw I do NOT agree with that assessment, you should know this already. ;)

I understand.

Since my name is Chuck, and I did not post the avatar in its current form, your thinly veiled sarcasm is completely off the mark.

But if your ego feels good, go for it.

AND, since the good brother is obviously against the celebration of Christmas, why should you think he would receive anything?

Wow! I wasn't trying to be the Grinch. :sos Chuck, I was trying to be humerous. Nothing 'thinly veiled' here at all. Sorry if it rubbed your reindeer the wrong way. :winkgrin

Dear Chuck:

You know something it's customary for those who like to fight, to throw a punch when an individual throws one at them. In your case you felt that you needed to come on this thread and start swinging. Have at it, feel free to get down and be yourself. I have no problem with you or your religion. I just choose not to adhere to the Roman Catholic pagan holy day. If you have a problem with me we can discuss it through PM or if you like I can give you my phone number. This is not personal, and should never be taken as such. We all have other things we could be doing and would be better served if we could get along on here.

I do admit that I have some strong feelings as you do about what you believe, and you have a right to do as you please, and so do I, but let's not seek each other out to try to get a fight going.

Again you have a problem with me then we can deal with it via PM or by the phone.

My apologies, brother.
I was too sensitive over something that should not trouble me at all.

Again, I apologize, and should probably do the same with Bro. EB.

Forgive me, please.

Brother EB,
I am too other the edge tonight for various reasons. You and I have disagreed before, and we probably will again, but I took this one too far to start with.
My apologies.
Sincere apologies.

Take care, and continue to hold your convictions!

EB,

How goes it ol' chap? Haven't heard from you in a while...

Carpenter 11-24-2007 10:54 AM

Well well well...just finished reading a very nice PM from our Good Brother B., heartfelt, very decent of him to reach out, it was well received.

I went back and reviewed what I wrote, and it was my kneejerk reaction to what I had read. I told Brother B. I need to clean out the filter between what I read and what I type in response.

Brother B is a good man to be sure, but he has one thing in common with Daniel Alicea and I am not sure if it is a good thing or bad thing, but it is somewhat annoying. They both stand strong on what they believe, however they are quick to dismiss and even to an extent ridicule any position other than their own.

I am not sure if my daughter were ever to tell Brother B. that she likes Christmas, that he would admonish her not to follow Roman Catholic paganism.

So, if I offended, I apologize, however, the idea is good that in all ways we represent the Christ we profess...and it applies to especially me!

Not very christian., either way., one can be different or UNIQUE just be glad for that, I sure wouldn't want everyone to be just like me, do everything I do or don't , think like I do..(*gee that sounds like how mom expects everyone to be, or else!*) that would just foil the whole idea. :D
BUT..we are ALL to be just like JESUS.
Do what He says Do; don't Do what He doesn't explicitly say TO DO; don't do what He says Don't DO..and so on. :doh
It is near impossible., but TRY we must., fall/get back up, TRY TRY again., never relenting till some degree of progress is achieved..and onward to perfection., one glorious day. :spirit

The fact of the matter is that we are all in a state of constant flux. This is not to say there are no absolutes, but we are subject to these absolutes because of our limited understanding, our culture, our personalities, our choices and the abstract nature of God Almighty.

Not one single one of us is perfect, and not one single one of us is infallible in our thinking or our opinions.

I know it sounds pretty meely mouthed, but lest any man think he has all the absolutes wrapped up in a nice tidy air-tight box, get ready, there is a reckoning ahead.
