Any Juicers in here ?

If so, which juicer would you recommend ? Been shopping for a Juicer but couldn't make up my mind ..some are cheap, and some are super expensive. I've learned in the past, "You get what you pay for"...

I use a Jack LaLane juicer. But if I had the money I would buy an Excalibur Juicer. Wayyy too expensive..like $2,000 but it is not a centrifugal juicer. That natural cancer place down in San Diego uses this type of juicer.

Ya, "juicing" does sound vaguely like "performance enhancing". lol

Ha, I expect anything with healthy overtones to be..."satanized." Note the term "sharing" on the web, currently being mangled, imo. (the meaning here being you can now "share" porn, etc)

Re: Any Juicers in here ?

Jack LaLane is the best bang for the buck... but here is my biggest hint... This is definitely a craigslist buy item. People with good intentions buy them and never take them out of the box... or they take them out and use them once or twice and decide that it's just too hard... or whatever... you can buy a really nice juicer for 10% of new with some careful shopping. And if you turn out to be one of the above people, well... you haven't lost as much :)

Then I'd buy one from ya for 10% of 10%! :lol

Champion or Green Star.(they are not centrifuge).....around $250 to $300.....check out hacres.com, that site has some information about these juicer's...I would love to have one but I only have a juiceman (it's a centrifuge juicer)...it does ok for a cheap one.

I love Grape juice, but I just get it all ready made.

Re: Any Juicers in here ?

Recreational, although I aspire to juice more! We use my Mom's old Moulinex juicer. It's bulky and a pain to clean, but it works well and I don't see the point in buying a new one--yet.

Carrot juice is my absolute favorite. Fresh carrot juice is NOTHING like what comes in cans. It's delicious.

Re: Any Juicers in here ?

I try to juice everyday. I have an Omega 8004, a masticating juicer. These are the best type of juicers if you want to juice leafy greens. Centrifugal juicers are pretty useless for leafy greens. If I were to buy a new juicer I would get a Omega VRT 350. Omega juicers are a great value and very highly rated.

Re: Any Juicers in here ?

These are some recipes that I like to use. I like the Vitamix better than a juicer as you also get the fiber.

Please add any you use.

8 oz Kombucha
1/2 yellow bell pepper
small handful of cilantro
pineapple chunks
frozen banana
1 cup baby spinach
5 strawberries

Detox Smoothie

1 1/4 cups pineapple juice
juice from 1/4 lemon
handful fresh spinach leaves
1/4 tsp fresh grated ginger

Quote:

1 cup almond milk
2 cups fresh spinach
1/2 cup blueberries
1 frozen banana
1 T flax seed

Handful of kale
4 stalks celery
1 cucumber
2 apples or one ruby red grapefruit
or sometimes both

Breakfast smoothie
1 frozen banana
2 tablespoons almond butter (can also use peanut butter)
4 large leaves or equivalent of smaller leaves of kale (I use dinosaur kale, my favorite); take the rib out
8 oz. almond milk
Sometimes I also throw in raspberries or strawberries. Yum!

3 cups of spinach
5 frozen whole strawberries
1 small kiwi or half a large kiwi
1/2 of mango
handful of fresh mint
1/2 a frozen banana
1/2 cup of water
squeeze of half a lemon
**Usually when I have this particular smoothie I no longer eat any more fruit for the day and just concentrate on raw and cooked vegetables.

spinach
banana
apple
pineapple
yoghurt

I haven't been happy with my juicer and gave it up and bought a Vitamix. Now that, I can be very happy with. Of course, we don't do the Blue Agave "juice". :heeheehee

Awesome. I think with these drinks, you will have to have several choices or you can get bored with it.

I've bought fresh squeezed OJ at Whole Foods - very nice on a hot day in summer. There is nothing better than fresh fruit juice.

You can mix some of that in your blender with spinach leaves, to get your greens. Spinach leaves and Kale leaves do really well in a regular blender.

In a Vitamix, you can peel the orange, section it and mix the whole thing - I like that better, as you also get the fiber. Same with an apple. :thumbsup
