church members

I have noticed a lot both good and bad has been said about pastors I was thinking many who post here are pastors. In your opinion what is your ideal church member?

Oh this should be good! I'm really, really curious about this.

I know any relationship is two sided. I can know what sort of pastor I'd like, but what sort of church member would he like me to be?

IMO, yes. I think sometimes the wives get to see things even the pastor doesn't....

Ones who pray! Prayer is the key.. saints we know are praying daily.

Saints who dont complain every time you ask them to do something.. especially in a home missions work.

Saints who reach out to the lost, Have you ever sat in a service where a visitor comes and you watch no one greet them other than to walk up and shake their hand. I remember sitting on the platform one night watching a visitor sit at her seat during altar call bawling her eyes out praying and her kids screaming all around here mommy mommy whats wrong and no one offered to tend the kids. no one prayed for her nothing... and this was NOT at my home church so I didnt really have the option of walking off the platform and going to this person however I eventually said something to the pastor and pointed her out at which he went to her and prayed.

Saints who realize that yes the pastor is there to guide them but dont call them all hours of the night for novel things like to pray for your kitty cat! Or because your wife left her purse in the church...

Saints who pay their tithes.

Those are just some thingsthat hit me right off the top

HOw about saints that just "live for God". I mean, they enjoy serving the Lord and they aren't looking for reasons to leave.! How about saints that live for God even though trials come their way. Good saints? Saints that don't cause division in the church. If they have a problem, they won't go and get other saints on their side! Saints that will pray during prayer time and help create an atmosphere for God to move! Saints have a right to ask questions concerning the Word of God. That is what the ministry is there for, to help saints to understand. But please, don't question the very Word of God. If God says no, don't try to find another way around it! JMO
