After I left work today at 12:30, I stopped at MickeyDs for a fish sandwich and a Coke...the drive thru line was extremely long, but I chose to hang in there.

To my amazement the line of cars moved rather quickly, so when the girl handed me my drink, I told her so...how I appreciated how well they moved things along.

Her lit up and she thanked me...it doesn't take much to make a difference in someone's day. :star

You are so right, I am continually amazed at how just showing a little kindness and compassion makes such a huge difference to people. There are a lot of rude, mean people in the world.

A while back I was waiting for my drink at Starbucks and I realized that people who had ordered behind me were getting their drinks. I walked over to the counter and said, "I think my order got lost", in a joking tone.

The girl behind the counter immediately started apologizing and said she had forgotten to make my drink. I said that it was no big deal, not to worry about it and the girl said, "oh, you have no idea how big of deal this would be to most people. This would ruin some peoples day, and they would be furious at me."

I thought that was so tragic, that our lives are so busy that someone making an honest mistake could ruin a day.

I know it is hokey, but I try to incorporate the "Random acts of kindness" philosophy into my day, as often as possible.
