Former Pakistani PM Assassinated...
Pakistani Opposition Leader Bhutto was killed in a car bombing...
What effect will this have with U.S. and Pakistan relations?! |

None. The only reason we have relations with Pakistan is because we have the same enemy. Pakastani government is fighting a movement to not become like Afganastan used to be and like Iran is, ruled by extremist. It doesn't matter who the ruler is, what matters is when the government starts being controled by the muslim clerics. That is when our relationship with Pakastan will cease. Pray our brothers and sisters in missionary get out first. We have a wonderful movement going on there.

I fear that all democracy in the Arab countries will have similar results. Opposition leaders will simply attempt to assassinate their competition.
The murderers are simply hailed as martyrs for their religious faith! Lots of crazy folk over there! |

Yet she felt she was the hope of her country. I am not sure my love for the homeland would cause me to make such a sacrifice...what does that say about me, eh?! Hmmmm... |
The US has to be very concerned about the rise of Al Qaeda influence in Pakistan and the fact that they have the support of 48% of the population. We certainly pray for our freinds, Missionary Shalms in that country.

Bhutto was the most pro-western of the candidates for Prime Minister. She was really hard line against Al Queda and the Muslim extremists. This is a very bad day for the good guys in the world.
Mussaraf (sp) the current PM has walked a tight rope of leaning western but not doing too much to stir up the bad guys. Hopefully he realizes he needs to go after them with guns blazing now. |
