I love Anthony.
I can't say I agree with everything he says here, or even the basic principle he is espousing. Tradition is just tradition, and for far too long it has ruled our movement. While I do not feel it is time to abandon all of our traditions, I do believe it is time to reevaluate some core beliefs we hold that are not founded in the Word. This WILL happen. It IS happening. And this process is, and will be, painful. We have confused tradition for truth, appearance for holiness, and talent for anointing. I cannot believe God is pleased. We need a fresh rain. We need revival. We need a revival of Spirit and Truth. God give us solid Bible teachers! |

All traditions are not bad. Tradition has been the glue that has held the Jewish community together while being scattered across the world with no homeland. Apostle Paul said he kept some traditions. He even visited the temples. There are good traditions that need to pass down to the next generation. The word "religion" is derived from the word "discipline" which is not necessarily a bad thing. On the other hand, tradition and religion, as good as they are and can be can also become wicked and evil things on earth when coupled with spiritual pride and blindedness. Traditions are not salvation.I think this is part of where we oft go wrong. They are good, but they are for the betterment of a community. They are not equal to Acts 238 |
