WPF Video Vs. UPC on Television Stance Stronger???
WPF...
. As a manifestation of his ethical standards, David declared, “I will set no wicked thing before my eyes,” (Psalms 101:3). These principles in practical living include separation from the general historical and cultural milieu of worldly entertainment and adulation of flesh, regardless of its origin or form, all of which runs counter, in virtually every way, to the vibrancy, power, wholesomeness, and triumph of God’s holiness. The believer abstains from purveyors of all such, including, but not limited to, prurient print material, unclean musical acts and songs, and musical productions (I Corinthians 15:33), Hollywood-style movies, and television, worldly sports, improper internet content, and all other forms and mediums of such (Deuteronomy 7:26). UPC.... We wholeheartedly disapprove of our people indulging in any activities which are not conducive to good Christianity and godly living, such as theaters, dances, mixed bathing or swimming, women cutting their hair, make-up, any apparel that immodestly exposes the body, all worldly sports and amusements, and unwholesome radio programs and music. Furthermore, because of the display of all these evils on television, we disapprove of any of our people having television sets in their homes. We admonish all of our people to refrain from any of these practices in the interest of spiritual progress and the soon coming of the Lord for His church. Seems like the UPC has a stronger stance than that of the WPF concerning Video and Television... |

I guess this is as good a place as any to ask the question my FIL once asked his pastor:
Is it a sin to OWN a TV, or is it a sin to WATCH a TV? What if you had a TV in your home, but never watched it? Would the debil jump out of it and attach itself to the coffee table? |
Re: WPF Video Vs. UPC on Television Stance Stronge
Well apparently its not a sin for the Rock church... they gotta watch their videos somehow.. I am sure they have the politically correct "monitors" though... that makes it alright though!

A lot of the stuff you seen on TV can be seen on internet video anyway.
Not trying to be funny but...somebody help me here. Those churches that preach/teach against watching TV... what's their position on internet video sites like YouTube, Google Video, etc.? |
