Need Advice on how to deal with Liars
 

I had a person call me today and she was concerned about a pal that was aways telling lies. If pal was confronted about the lies...then pal told more lies to cover lies.

Any one here have any suggestions on how to deal with this!!!

I think people that lie like that believe they are telling the truth. In that they come to believe their own lies. I really don't know of anything except prayer. Although I have heard of theraphy for this I don't really know how to go about it.

It would depend on how important this pal was to me and what kind of lies he was telling...

In other words, if the lies are damaging to other people he needs to be confronted and dealt with, if he is only damaging himself, call him a fool, tell him you are not lying, and wait a while to see what happens.

Really, SallyJo. You can only pray. When someone starts to lie it just snowballs on them. Then they have to practice not lying. It's a trap and a vicious cycle.

How about a good laugh. Tell the person they are so funny with all the stories.

Do not walk away and let them think anything other than you know they are making things up.
