Video Editing

What do you guys that do video use? I have been using Adobe Premier Elements....and honestly I'm not too happy with it. I was gonna get Ulead's program.

Elements really is the stripped down version. As far as the video goes it's not great but not that bad for youtube, but there is no way to edit the audio track with effects or to clean up like pops and cracks. I made a video recording of my friend playing guitar and my digital camera picked up a lot of electronic pops....it was not from the guitar but I am thinking maybe the amp...since it is in mpeg Im not sure how to edit the audio separately and then put it back into the track...or if that is even possible.

any suggestions?

Prax, I use Sony Vegas Pro 8 and it works very well. You can get an Academic version for around $300.

Since getting my Mac, though, I just bought Avid Express Pro on eBay and will use it. It has good reviews. Retail, it is $1600!!! I got it for $175 and can upgrade to the latest version for $50. Avid is what the TV studios use.

MOW...

If you're interested in selling your version of Vegas Pro, I'm interested.

It doesn't do audio clean up

Ulead works really well. It allows separate audio edits as well.

After a lot of research I came to believe that for my High Definition HDV editing Sony's Vegas Video 9 Platinum Edition was the best (until I can afford Vegas 8 Pro).

I think Vidoemaker Magazine and some other publications gave Vegas awards as the most for the money.

Let me see what Avid does and make sure that I can upgrade it. I'll need a fall back plan just in case it doesn't work. If I no longer need it, you'll be the first to hear from me!! :D
