I wept...

Neh 1:4 ¶ And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned [certain] days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,

Yesterday- feeling a little down ( a feeling Im beginning to get use to)- I drove a few miles to a town on the AL/Tenn state line. Several years ago, a brother went to that little wide spot in the road and started an Apostolic Church. In a matter of a few short years, the church grew and grew. Buildings were built and yet the sanctuary was overcrowded. The parking lot was usually full and God poured out a revival. People were saved, baptized in Jesus Name and filled with the Holy Ghost. The sick was healed through the prayer of faith.

But then, the pastor died unexpectedly. What happened after that, I don't really know. But yesterday, as I sat in that empty parking lot, no one was in site. No signs, nothing. The building sits empty. No services are held there now. What a sad sight. I heard through the grapevine that one of the pastors sons is opening the building for service about once a month. I'm going to contact him and get information. Theres nothing I can do, but, if I pray... if we'll pray...maybe...just maybe...God will move. To do what? I don't know. But...its such a waste to see these church grounds wasting away. So sad to see this brothers work fade into history...

And the people... where did they go? Are we... am I... so bold as to believe that God can resurrect that work? But, who am I? I don't even preach. But, how I cried as I saw a bulding that once held the praise and worship...the music and singing... the joy and gladness... of a people that have drifted away. The Lord seems to have laid a burden on my heart for this place. Please pray with me that I will know what to do...if anything can be done.
