The innocence of a child

I think I have overdone it since my surgery and today I woke up and my side was hurting very much. Our grandson, Gabriel (the one that has had 2 heart surgeries, he is 6) almost always sleeps in our room. I mentioned to him I was hurting. I showed him where they had made the 5 cuts and around each one was black and blue as I am real easy to bruise. He said Grandma; you know why you hurt? They cut you up instead of just making one cut like they did on me!”
