Parents: Any ideas on cell phones w tracking
 

I had given my daughter a cheap little prepaid cell phone and it worked ok for the time being. She is getting older and she is my tomboy and loves to be outside. Summer is nearing and some nights she is not home until almost 9 now. I know where she is all the time and am fine with her location however I am looking into changing cell carriers and a few of them offer phones with gps tracking and thats what I am looking at for the 9 yr old.

Anyone tried these options and what were your thoughts on them?

I haven't done that on her cell phone but when she get a car this year

yup, gonna have one in the trunk I can track on the computer


If she calls for help it will lock in her last location, you can adjust the settings for all the time....

IOW....you can set the tracking to locate on 911 calls only or on any call she makes period.

I found one thru one company I cant remember now but it tracks where they are at all times as long as the phone is on???? I had thought about that one but I want her to have her freedom. Her biggest problem and she is actually the one who suggested the phone w tracking is she is directionally challenged she cannot for the life of her tell you where she is or how to get home! I have tried and tried to get her to pay more attention but it doesnt work. So right now she stays at one or 2 friends house who live across the street from the school which is one block over from us... otherwise she is lost lost lost!!!

ROFL!!! Yep... I dread the day she ever starts driving! We will have to go to Arizona to find her!!!!

I have one starting to drive now and I am a basket case with him alone and he knows his way around!!!!!:reaction

It some situations you can track the phone on the internet.

Why not know for sure where your child is....

If anything let her know you the ability to know...

This was actually her idea pretty much... she gets lost very easy but I want her to have some freedom to go and play and have fun... to be a kid...
