Re: Martha Carson Satisfied.
I love this old song.
Here is a little info about Martha Clark dated December 17, 2004. Martha Carson, who became famous in the 1940s and 1950s for singing uptempo country gospel songs such as "Satisfied," died Thursday (Dec. 16) in Nashville at age 83. With her two sisters, she performed on an Atlanta radio program starting in 1938. She later recorded for Capitol Records as a duo with her first husband James Roberts, and with her sisters, known as the Amber Sisters. She joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1952 and married her second husband, music promoter Xavier Cosse, in 1953. As a writer, her songs were recorded by artists as diverse as Faron Young, rhythm & blues vocalist Clyde McPhatter and pop singer Johnnie Rae. As a solo performer, her driving style influenced Elvis Presley, Brenda Lee, Connie Smith and others. Funeral services will be held Monday (Dec. 20) in Nashville.
