America's Failure

Latest statistics on High School pass rates.

1.23 million High Schoolers will not pass their finals and receive an academic diploma this year.

That works out to be 30% of the total.

Pass rates by ethnicity:
77% white
65% black
57% hispanic

Hillary Clinton's state of NY has the pockets with the lowest pass rates in the country 24.5% overall.

Texas over all was among lowest in the nation.

But to be fair most of the states bordering our neighbor to the South did.

I am not at all surprised. Even with the TAAS or whatever tests they study so much for, they don't do very well in my estimation. I would prefer all my grandchildren be home schooled. Austin has fallen down on the job. And we NEED less play and more study. Can you imagine how much better our children would learn if we paid our teachers more, and had less budget for sports, and more for academics? We do need qualified and well paid teachers in this state.

This is simply more documentation of a disturbing trend in the nation when it comes to education. The NEA is far more concerned with teaching political correctness and self-esteem to its students (and preserving its power) than with equiping them for the real world in an economy where, more and more, education is everything. We are undermining are own country. More and more of our skilled labor is being imported, or work is out-sourced, and this is partly why. This cannot go unchecked without grave consequences. The rest of the world does not stand still.

I totally agree. No child left behind is a joke.
