Arson of Texas Governor's Mansion

The Governor's Mansion in Austin, Texas was swept by a fire Sunday. It has been ruled arson, with damage bordering on catastrophic. Noone was inside the mansion at the time. Please pray for our Governor, family and staff.

Yes, please pray. Thankfully no one was injured. I may not agree with his politics or political standing, but I hope this does not affect Perry much, or the family.

Have you heard anything about him running for office again Brother Price? I would not vote for him, but that is horrifying to me. I hope that whoever did this knew that no one was inside.

I have heard that after this term, he is leaving politics for a short bit. Some have questioned a possible Senate run, and maybe even on a McCain VP running mate. Perry said in a Texas Monthly article, though, he is happy in Austin and doing what he is doing.

Sure glad he is happy with his work in Austin, cause I sure ain't. But, I hope the family is OK. They say the mansion's damage is almost total. I wonder who would burn the mansion down though.

Oh well. No one was living there at the time of the fire and the expensive heirlooms and whatnot had been removed due to the renovation that was taking place. They can build a new Governor's mansion. It'll probly be bigger than this one, knowing Texans' tendency to want bigger everything.

You are more than likely right Rico. Maybe it can be more modern. I just find it sad that someone would do that.

Yeah, I hear ya. Some people don't have respect for anything. At least it was only a building that got damaged though. I spoke with several people from TX today, while doing my work from home thing. I was surprised to find that not many of them knew of the fire.

Yes, I am bad. But, like someone I know likes to say, "Well, it's the truth!" :D

Ya wanna hear something ironic? The reason they were renovating was for a new sprinker system. Yeah most people were at church or sleeping probably when it happened. I don't watch the news saw it on my AOL welcome page.
