Our exciting evening...........
We were sitting at the park watching my son's baseball team play tonight. They were in the bottom of the third inning when all of the sudden, out of nowhere the sky turned absolutely BLACK! Within seconds the wind was blowing so hard it was hard to stay on our feet and the rain was coming down so hard you couldn't see home plate, let alone across the field!
I've been in tornados before, but always from inside of a building looking out (once from inside of a car). I've never been OUTSIDE in anything like this before! Seriously! The wind was blowing so hard and the pressure sooooooooo strong that I literally could not breath in or out for about 20-30 seconds. I know that doesn't sound long, but imagine it. WHEW!!! By the time my mom and I got to the car, we were completely soaked to the skin. Even our underclothes could be wrung out when we got home. Keith and Walt and the rest of the team got in the dugout which was a little shelter. But then it started filling with water and in seconds they were standing knee deep!!! When I went to drive home, I turned down the road behind us and found it completely blocked by a giant tree that had been completely uprooted and was laying across the road and on the house across the street. Want to see some pictures? http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...3/P6092476.jpg http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...P6092485-R.jpg http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...P6092492-R.jpg Look how it completely ripped up the sidewalk as it fell! |

Scenes like this are all over town. Yet they are not declaring this a tornado.

Re: Our exciting evening...........
Are any of our AFF people in the midwest flooding zone? I was wondering about H1 and others today. Praying for all AFF people that are experiencing bad weather, we have had some heavy thunderstorms this evening. Typical for this time of year. No heavy winds though. Thank you Lord.

Re: Our exciting evening...........
Friday evening we had several tornado sightings here in our town and the surrounding area.
One of our friends had a tree crash thru their bonus room (the room above their garage) and down thru it crushing their two cars that were parked in the garage. We have trees down all over town. If you drive thru our town right now it looks like a war zone. Fortunately, we've maintained power thru it all at our house. A couple of streets over they were not so blessed. They lost power on Friday and didn't get it back until Sunday. |
