Is Playing A Pinball Machine Sinful ?
 

Is it sinful to play a pinball machine ? Some preachers preach that is worldy to play a pinball machine ? I have heard it said that it is gambling to play a pinball machine,because you are trying to get bonus balls.
Some bowling alleys and such still have pinball machines.

So is playing a pinball machine a sin ?

I don't think so either,and to be quite honest I recently played one at a bowling alley.
I understand some folks do and I want to hear their view.

I can only quote myself here from a post I just made a few minutes ago:

While gambling is certainly not a wise use of most peoples money, neither can it be declared an absolute sin. Some people actually do it for entertainment and can control their spending. But nevertheless, there are a million plus better things to do with ones money......
Having said that, people take the (false) premise that gambling is a black and white sin, then start looking at things that are similar to gambling and calling THEM sins because of their associations, then still other things are sin because of.... well, you get the idea.

Finally you end up with people dancing down the street singing "Trouble with a capital T which rhymes with P which stands for Pinball!"

I guess if you get extra balls, you are getting more out of it than you paid for. Those are your "winnings".

When I read your question I thought it was a joke. Then I saw that you were just after some opinions. Randy - you do good.

Lesson learned: Never allow others to define sin for you. Sin may be identified by the word of God and your conscience's response to that word. Live according to your bast understanding of God's word, walk in His Spirit, and keep your conscience clear before Him, and you'll do alright. Try to live up to the ever changing opinions (judgments) of men and you shall indeed fail.

I would think the general offense of pinball machines is where they were they were originally located. Pinball machines are in bars, so many would equate them being sinful because they were in bars.

They are in game rooms in malls now or bowling alleys, however, many didn't allow bowling either.

I can't see playing a pinball machine to be wrong or have anything to do with gambling.
