Employees are Like Sheep...

I am working full time again, and unable to post much, but I thought this was an interesting comment.

My Publisher had a 'morale boosting' meeting yesterday, and made this comment...

"Employees are like dumb sheep- they don't make the decisions- they just follow their shepherd, their BOSS." !!!!!!!!!!

Any thoughts?? Does this correlate with the shepherd/sheep analogy in the church???

I found it thought-provoking and have been mulling it over ever since the meeting. He said that when an employee follows the bosses decisions- it brings him freedom. Freedom from retribution if the decision was a bad one...LOL There IS truth in that remark.

Carry on...

CareyM...we got this a lot with my old pastor, the one I grew up under. I know zilch about the mentality of sheep. Are they intelligent? Are they trainable, such as dogs are? Are they so dumb that they will fall over the edge of a cliff- following their leader??? Or, are they astute enough to STOP at the edge and turn around and go another way??

The Bible says that .."All we, like sheep, have gone astray..." DO sheep automatically go astray when they have no shepherd to lead them?

Some thoughts I have had since the meeting...

I have heard sheep are pretty dumb, but I don't think we are that dumb! I mean we were created in God's image...

So glad to hear about you getting the job, Wholly His...that's awesome. You've been missed around here!
