Canadian Soldiers In Afghanistan

These are Leopard Tanks.

This is some of the clean ones I can post.
They have a bunch of them where they are fighting but the language is very graphic.

In this video a fallen soldier comes home.
We have lost almost 90 soldiers since we went into Afghanistan in '02.

There are about 2,500 troops in Afghanistan that is the largest contingent of NATO forces there.

We are carrying the load.

Well in Afghanistan we are.
The US I hear is supposed to send more troops there.
The thing is, half our troops are overseas already, mostly in Peacekeeping roles
in Cyprus, Golan heights, Lebanon, stc.

I do hope that we do focus on Afghanistan more too. Has there been really high Canadian casualties there recently like our casualties over there?

Congrats on sending less than 10% of the U.S. numbers.

Carrying the load??

The deployment will keep U.S. troop level at about 27,000

Re: Canadian Soldiers In Afghanistan

We should have a larger Armed Forces but after years of neglect under our worst Prime Minister ever Pierre Trudeau, we are slowly building them up.

We recently built a whole lot of frigates that are based in the Persian Gulf along with destroyers.

We just bought a bunch of those Hercules? heavy lift planes.
We bought some Leopard Tanks, armored personal carriers.
We are looking at getting some Amphibious troop carriers.

I personally think that we should double our personnel in the armed forces.
We should get some shortened version of the Aircraft Carriers like Britain & Australia have.

JMHO

That & there is a much larger troop commitment in Iraq 150,000 plus.
So naturally your casualty list will be proportionately bigger.
