God is Holy!

What made the Temple holy? Or the Ark of the Covenant? Was it the materials that they were made from make them holy? Was it the Badger skin and linen and gold and silver?

Wouldn't you think that it was the Presence of the Lord? Would His presence have been there if they had not obeyed His commands?

Be holy for I am holy!

I am holy Coop. I am made holy by the blood of the lamb. I am made holy because Christ was holy and as I "hide" in his shadow I am seen by my Father as holy.

OTP's don't even have clue as to the definition of the word holiness.

Admit it. When we hear the word "holiness" what pops into your mind? A picture of a 1950's pentecostal women off the cover of the Herald.

We OP's think of holiness primarily in dress and hair fasion.

Sorry to mess with your theology, HCM, but the scripture says:

II Cor. 4:7
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

We can't be clean enough on the outside to merit God's presence. And, the things that defile us and cause God's spirit to depart the vessel are things that are within.

Mark 7:23 (Whole Chapter)
All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

God is pure..........how can any flesh attempt to be like him?

Holiness is not a work.

Has anyone ever achieved a God equivalent Holiness?
