Are Todd Bentley & C Peter Wagner Apostolic?
 

Leader of the "Lakeland Outpouring," Todd Bentley, was commissioned by C Peter Wagner and cronies from his International Coalition of Apostles (ICA) on June 23, 2008. Their service gave Bentley many "prophetic" accolades, which foretold of a long and God-ordained future for his ministry. Then a few short weeks later, Bentley was caught in an unhealthy emotional relationshipwith a female staff member. Talk about discernment! Anyway, Wagner’s ICA claims to be "apostolic." Are they? If so, was/is Todd Bentley Apostolic? Here is a portion of Bentley's commissioning:

Also, look at this article from Bentley. In it he explains some of the why's and how's of his ministry. SCARY STUFF!

So, do these guys (and gals) look or sound like the Apostles found in the Bible to you? Why or why not?

I have been around some of these guys in the past. All I can say for them is.....Ooops!

No one has perfect discernment, but they should have had more than they did, for sure! :D

Yes, I've meet some of their group also. I see clearly what their mostly about. The one guy in the Bentley video said it best: "Money, money, money, money"!

I dont claim to be full of discernment, but I watched a clip of Bently in a swimming pool baptizing in the name of hoochama googa or some such and undestood quite clearly the guy was NOT operating in a method that should be acceptable to ANY BRAND OF CHRISTIAN.

None of these guys are Apostolic are they? I's sure that i will get a few stones tossed my way but, even by the very loose standard of what an Apostolic is on AFF, none of this bunch qualifies.

Yep, I agree.

I am not into titles. A man cannot rely on them; he has to rely on the fruit produced through his ministry. Just because a person is called by a certain title, “apostle,” “prophet,” evangelist,” “pastor,” “teacher,” “bishop,” etc…, does not necessarily make it so. The fruit, not the title, confirms a man’s calling. A title becomes an indictment if there is no fruit. Lacking evidence of one’s calling makes their title an embarrassment.

He is "apostolic" in a totally different way than "apostolic" is defined on this forum. When leaders of this movement say they are "apostolic" that means that they believe in apostles leading churches or groups of churches. It has nothing to do with "apostolic" as it is understood on here. It has nothing to do with Oneness Pentecostalism.
