My Father, The chariot of Israel, and Horsemen
1 KINGS 2:12
And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces. "My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof." Your brief opinion regarding the "Chariot of Israel" and the "horsemen"? |
Re: My Father, The chariot of Israel, and Horsemen
He was calling Elijah "Father" which was a term of respect
sorta like Paul refers to himself in 1 Cor 4:15 He was also saying that Elijah was the "real" defense of Israel. He was the "chariots and horsemen" that did the real fighting. |
