Dear Dianne,

Sen. Barack Obama was likened to Jesus Christ on the floor of the U.S. House, while Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was compared to the Roman governor responsible for ordering Jesus' crucifixion.

Both comparisons came from Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., a supporter of Obama for president last Wednesday. Watch Cohen's remarks here.

"If you want change, you want the Democratic Party," Cohen said during his one-minute speech."Barack Obama was a community organizer like Jesus, who our minister prayed about. Pontius Pilate was a governor."

It followed South Carolina Democratic chairwoman Carol Fowler comments last week that Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., had chosen a running mate" whose primary qualification seems to be that she hasn't had an abortion." Â She later apologized for her tacky comments.

I heard the comments. dude is an idiot. which puts him squarly in the mainstream of Democrat politicians.

It's just gettin down right nasty. I thought Obama and the Obamanites were for change? I see he's/they's slinging the mud..er dung very easily. Business as usual. :roseglasses

I think it's hilarious how the Obama campaign is leaning so heavily on this "Community Organizer" experience. Nobody has come forward with a complementary report detailing with facts and figures how the community(s) improved after Obama organized them. After all, if that is his claim to experience, shouldn't we express even a cursory bit of interest in his results, his effectiveness?

It will fun to watch it come out that he was working for the famously corrupt Daley Chicago political machine training future agitators in tactics of radical activism, and working for ACORN, which is widely known for committing massive voter fraud in urban areas.

What a fun day it will be:
"What, exactly, does a "community organizer" do?"
"Uhhhhh, register dead people to vote and teach illegal immigrants how to get past poll workers."

Game over.

I still can't hardly believe he made it this far in the primaries.

Perhaps He is not as goofy as He sounds. He may actually want Obama to loose, so He makes dumb statements that will help the other party but no one can say he was a traitor.

The problem is that the average american is either to busy to notice what congress says. The other prob is Most will just follow the most charismaitic speaker without thinking about what Community Osama organized . Oh he is such silver tounge devil.[just my opinion]

Michael Barone (I think) pointed out that the community he organized was able to get rid of asbestos from the horrible poverty ridden projects they lived in.... but after 20 odd years, those same people are still living in abject poverty in those same horrible projects.... just without asbestos.

I dont consider that a sterling record.
