Either way, Elohim and variations are used frequently to refer to God/Yahveh in the Old Testament, and Jesus/Yeshua makes it clear He *is* God in the New Testament. They are one at the same...so God seems to work in English fairly well. |

Re: The word God
God, in the bible, is clear as to WHO it is speaking to in both context, grammar and definition.
In the NT there is one word used, Theos, And the bible says clearly there is ONE Theos. IF Jesus is called THEOS Jesus must be THAT theos. THEOS is not a name. Second THEOS is used with definite articles. THE Theos or THE GOD. For example if I said "The President" you would know there is just ONE...if I said A president, you'd know I meant one of many. Jesus was called THE God...for example He is Emmanuel, Then God WITH us. Thomas called him "The God of me and The Lord of me" |
Re: The word God
In Hebrew the words for God are El, Eloah, Elohim.
