Disapproval,Relationships With Children.
A Christian person whom is a good person who loves God,had a child who has moved away from home and wears clothings that this person does not approve of,said recently that since my child wears clothing I do not approve,I didn't want to be seen in public with my child for fear that people would think that I was condoning that type of clothing, but the christian person said they had to get over that.
I'm not trying to sound harsh, but why are folks more concerned about people thinking they are letting down to the point, they distance themselves from their grown children ? My children might grow up and do things, that I don't approve of,but I never want to distance myself from them, for fear someone would think I was compromising. Please understand I'm not belittling standards, that people have, but do Pentecostals sometimes succumb to a religious spirit, that we distance ourselves for those whom we need to build bridges to ? Please understand the spirit of this post,as it is not meant to sound harsh or belittling in anyway. |

I for one am not wondering why this child left home and abandoned some of their parents values.....

If God's not ashamed of us when we don't measure up, why would we treat our children any differently.

I think that you have hit on something with that Scott. I have several brothers who no longer go to church. My mom never once treated them differently in public or private

Even my mom and dad don't mind being in public with me!

If you or anyone else wants to have some great fun with your Ma, just wait until you happen to be walking with her past some stores. As soon as you see something you really want, grab the side of her shirt whilst pointing and screaming at the thing in the window you want...... Really let loose! "I want! I want! I want! WAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!" |

Re: Disapproval,Relationships With Children.
Sometimes we are concerned about how others in the church or how folks on the outside perceive us,more than what God thinks of us.
