Are We Nuts??

I apologize ahead of time but I think that the Squirells are loose in our Political systems.

In Vancouver, our local City Council voted a new by law which came into effect today.
The By law states that you can not "idle" your car for more than 3 minutes or you will get a $50 fine.

I asked a By law officer, :what about if someone waits in their car and needs heat in the winter, or A/C in the summer?"

He said, "don't care, it's the law."

In San Fran, and one other Canadian City they are outlawing plastic bags.

When are people going to stop worshipping the Earth and thinking that it is going to be around for another Billion years?:banghead

Thanks for allowing me to vent!:grumpy

Ron, it may not be around another billion years (but we don't really know for sure, do we?), but it certainly could be around for another generation or two.

I'm not the best as taking care of our earth, but I do like to do whatever little part I can whenever I can.

Just what if this old world is around for another say, fifteen or twenty years, what kind of world do you want leave your kids and your potential future grandchildren. I find comments like this as being irresponsible. The Word says we are to be overseers and good stewards of this place, this does not give us permission to wreck havoc on God’s creation.

RonB, it takes more fuel to run a car for 1 min than to restart it. So we start driving in circles now?

I'm not being snotty here, and I have no objection to your post....but as long as we are taking care of the things God intrusted to us, we are doing our part. Not willfully destroying any one thing....but some of this save the earth nonsense is just that, nonsense. God made everything with a purpose....you know? as I believe it, our main priority as Christians is to bear fruit....aka, lead others to salvation before Jesus comes back...

Let him worry about the rest IMO

Theresa, we are in complete agreement here. Like I said, I'm not the best at taking care of our earth. But I do try to be responsible when it comes to what I can do with what I have. Nothing big. Just a little recycling. That kind of stuff. I agre some of the save the earth stuff really is just nonsense. But on the other hand, if there are little things we can do, why not do them?

Like I said, nothing big. for instance, I make my kids and all the neighbor kids go out and pick up the empty water bottles and pop cans after they play basketball and put them in the recycle bin. Not a hard thing to do.

Actually tho, if you think about it, our ancestors were probably better at this than any of us are. Consider how many times they used a bucket of water for how many different things before they finally threw it out. And then it was thrown on the plants in the garden or the flowers. NOT that I want to go back to that era! NO thank you!!

I agree in being good stewards, but not idling your car for more than three minutes???

If ou have to wait for someone in the winter or in the summer, is it such a sin to have the heat going and or, A/C?

Sorry, this is an extreme IMHO.
