Has anyone ever sponsered a child through them? If so, how did it go?

Anyone use another group?

I sponsored a kid through them. First of all, the way I was approached on the street by a completely unprofessional young lady should have served as a warning to me.

But I sponsor the kid from Zambia.

First I was getting letters from the kid. His handwriting at first was bad but then it got really neat. He was about 11 years old when I sponsored him.

Then one day I got this picture from him and the letter said that he was unable to write. There was a picture enclosed froma coloring book and it looked like some 4 yr old had just scribbled on it.

When I asked about this, I could not get a straight answer. After 3 months of deep concern, I received another letter from "him", the handwriting was poor and there was another picture enclosed, from a coloring book, that had been scribbled all over.

I cancelled my sponsorship soon after that.


They say this company is reputable and they say they are audited on a regular basis.

I am convinced that the kid I sponsored is not the kid I was receiving letters and stuff from. At the bare minimum, this agency is not organized with their records. I think they have more issues.
