Popular Win for Obama; McCain Electoral Victory

The possibility that Obama wins the popular vote and still loses the election is there. Consider: Obama is overwhelmingly popular in large states like California, Illinois, and New York. His popular vote margin could be so large there, current polls are not taking into consideration that the margin is much narrower in battleground states. Obama could win the popular vote by a significant portion and lose narrowly in the Electoral College.

Honestly, if that were the case, I would probably have to rethink my position that there would not be any unrest. Especially since some are still smarting from the 2000 election. If this were to happen, I would definitely increase security as a precaution.

Here is my predictions;

80% chance of Obama landslide

10% chance that McCain wins in a squeaker (only if a "silent majority" of conservative new voters show up and vote to offset the young mushy heads voting based on charisma and redistribution of wealth)

10% chance Obama wins in a squaker (would mean that the conventional wisdom that the party of a President in power gets the blame when the economy is bad even if that means electing a far left wing lib with little experience)

I disagree with your 80% landslide for Sen. Obama.

I say it is 50% / 50%, depending LARGELY on PA, OH, VA and FL.

It is not IMPOSSIBLE for Sen. McCain to carry those states, despite the polls.

If Sen. McCain wins all 4 of those states, then the election "suddenly" tilts in his favor.

I thought it was supposed to happen today.

Well, another urban legend I guess (like Biden stepping down in early October).

To be honest, I wish there was a tape like that and I wish it would be made public but I think Ms Obama is too smart for that. She, along with her husband and others have been working on his presidency for years.
