IRAN'S President HAPPY about Obama Win

Enthusiastic about Barack Obama's election, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad congratulated the president-elect today.

Tehran "welcomes basic and fair changes in U.S. policies and conducts," said Ahmadinejad, who encouraged Obama to pursue a policy of "non-interference" toward Iran, the Islamic Republic News Agency reported.

"I congratulate you on being able to attract the majority of votes of the participants of the election," he wrote. "As you know, the opportunities provided by the Almighty God, which can be used for elevation of nations, or God forbid, for their collapse, are transient."

I'm no Obama fan and I think that it is a bad thing that he won...

But... having said that...

It makes sense that the Iranian president would be happy because the chances that we are going to haul off and invade Iran (like we did Iraq) are fewer now than under Bush or McCain.

Why don't you give your opinion on Iran's president being happy
about our new president instead of skirting around it by attacking DB

Would it not be better to get the things that America wants by talking or would you rather get them by war?

BTW did you serve in the arm services???

Light,

Talking is ok if it gets you somewhere, but talking to a crazy man doesn't make much sense. The reality is Obama is not going to embrace Iran. Politics is one thing, but when it comes down to it the basics of American foreign policy it will be much the same. Obama will react with force at the first opportunity to show that he is not weak. I really am more concerned with the way he will prolong a weak economy through bad policies, (punishing those who make money, higher government spending, etc.) than with our foreign policy. As long as he picks experienced advisors and listens that part will be fine.
