Space Shuttle Endeavor

Just lifted off. I'm always amazed by these lift offs. The raw power involved is awesome.

And I always hope they don't explode. I'll never forget where I was when that one exploded back in the mid 80's. I was in high school, working at a clothing store and had just come back from lunch. Was hanging my coat up in the break room and saw it on the TV. Stopped to watch. And then it just blew up. I couldn't believe it. I didn't believe it. Thought it was a movie or something. But then I figured out it was the real deal. Wow, I had to sit down.

It is thrilling.

Yes, funny how we remember things like that. I remember when the one broke up here in East Texas, pieces strewn for miles. I was sitting at my computer.

I remember that one too. I was having breakfast with an old Bible colleg friend at a Marie Callendar's after a preaching conference. They had a bigscreen going and we saw the pieces falling out of the sky. It was surreal.

That is one thing I would like to see in person instead of on TV.

My husband works in the aerospace and defense industry. They make the nose cone for the shuttles. Great place to tour.
