Black Hebrews?
 
There is a group of African Americans that claim to be the true Hebrew Israelites of the bible. They claim that Joseph, Moses, Paul and all the characters from the bible were actually black africans and that modern day african americans are their descendants. Was Jesus a black man? Would that change your faith in any way?

Black is a color, African is a continent (hello Sarah Palin?)..Jesus was a semite..a Jew..not an African. Could his skin color have been "black" like Africans? I doubt it. Could his skin color been lilly white like some Europeans? I doubt that too. He was a semite, born and raised in the middle east. I don't really care.

Now, as for the so called "Black Hebrews", those guys are nuts....seriously nuts

Yes, this is true. I have a very good friend I grew up with who now lives in Detriot,MI. who is caught up in the Black Hewbrew PENTECOSTAL movement. I started a thread about it a few months ago.

A Large PAW church in Detroit had a major split over this teaching. They think everyone has to be baptized in the name of Yashua and that we have observe all the Jewish feast.

i was like WHAAAAAT! I am not believing my ears when she was telling me all of this.

Exactly! If they would have picked on less of an historical figure they might have gotten away with it, but whether you believe Jesus was God or not, everyone knows Jesus was Jewish and the Jews are Semites! More people trying to rewrite history, just what we need!

Yes, a lot of them are split off from PAW - the ones in Detroit.
They still maintain a lot of Pentecostal worship, speaking in tongues, Acts 238 etc but they have church on saturday and obverse the passover etc

Moses was a Hebrew, he was not an African. Two separate continents.

I for one do not believe that it is remotely possible that Jesus was Black. I also know that he is not the European white that is depicted most often. The final question you posed though is pretty intriguing. I would imagine that there are some who currently do call themselves Christians who may have a problem with a black Jesus.
