Lots of Pentecostal History!

I just finished digging through Eddie's (late) dad's briefcase from Africa. It was SOOOOOO fascinating. It was like a whole case of Pentecostal artifacts. Besides all the interesting personal stuff, there were copies of letters from Bro. Chambers, the TN District, and all sorts of stuff.

There was a letter about a "new group" that had been formed called the AMF, and how it had been decided that you could no longer be a part of it and the UPCI, and that they would have to choose if they were a part of both. There was also a letter about some big disciplinary procedure on some guy (nationwide letter), but I don't want to mention the name because you never know who on here is related to whom!!

The guest book from Bro. Cupples' funeral was in there, and it was interesting to see who all was there. Kenneth Phillips, Stanley Chambers, Tommy Craft, LH Hardwick, TF Tenney, Mark Hanby, and several other names I recognized. Also, our own "Haddock" from AFF was there with her folks. There was a gal who attends our church in Jackson, and some who attend our church in Cordova who were all at the funeral, unbeknownst to me! Also, my first cousin Claudette (Kloepper) Walker was there when she was still a Kloepper - I'm sure she was there with Jerolyn Chambers, who also signed in. Strange that Claudette was at my future hubby's dad's funeral. Small world!

Eddie's original birth certificate issued from the U.S. to Liberia was in that case, as well as his parent's marriage ceritficate. His mom was 16!!!!

Anyway, it was some pretty cool stuff; I can't even remember it all. Eddie hasn't been through it yet, but I'm sure he will soon.

Love it, Love it, Love it, history is so cool and neat. When I see you next, I would love to see this stuff.

When my grandfather died he had similar items, original UPCI Ministerial lic, signed by Howard Goss in 1945. I still have two original books by AD Urshan that UPCI HQ doesn't even have.

It's like going through a time capsule-

Wow, how time flies-Claudette must have been a teen then.

I know who Jerolyn "Chambers" would be, but do I know Claudette Kloepper Walker?

Jerolyn and Claudette were always best friends when they were young. I guess they are still close.

Let's see.........Claudette would have been 22 then, I suppose. She's 6 years older than me, I think. I was 16 at the time, because Eddie was 14, but I didn't know him back then.

The first time I ever saw him, he was at FPC in Jackson, MS with his mom when I was a freshman at JCM (PBI). Bro. Craft had them on the platform, talking about his dad dying, and I thought, "he's a cute little kid". LOL!

What a great find. I love to look through old Pentecostal artifacts.

I knew Claudette when she was a Kloepper; And I know who Jerolyn Chambers is; Was not aware they were good friends.
Haven't seen either one for many years. Claudette's brother was at ABI at the same time I attended.
