Why Jacob,And Not Esau ?

For the children being not yet born,neither having done any good or evil,that the purpose of God according to election might stand,not of works,but of him that calleth;
It was said unto her,the elder shall serve the younger.
As it written,Jacob whom have I loved,but Esau whom I hated.ROM.9:11,12,13

Why do you think God loved Jacob,and hated Esau ?
Also notice God says Jacob whom I haved loved,which means He loved Jacob from the past,and God said Esau whom I hated.

There is alot to this and I wonder what some of yall's thoughts are on the matter.

The one phrase was stated before their birth and the other afterward.

My late father taught that the word hate in this passage, had the meaning of "to love less".
God favored Jacob.

Notice that Jacob was never served by Esau in his lifetime. The context points to the descendents and nations that came from these men.

It also reminds me of Cain and Abel. Why was one's offering more acceptable?

Jacob loved and respected his birthright. Esau sold it for a mere bowl of food.

Here is the thing we can speculate as to why God did this ,but God is soverign and He chooses whom he wants to.
The thing I get of this ,is that God has a purpose and it will be fulfilled.
When I look around at the world and see the mess it is in,one wonders where is God in all of this,but I am reminded that His purpose according to His choosing shall stand,not maybe will but will stand the purpose of God will stand.
