Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert threatened "harsh and disproportionate" retaliation after Gaza militants fired at least 10 rockets and mortar shells into southern Israel on Sunday, wounding three and raising the specter of a new round of violence days ahead of Israel's general election.

Since an unwritten truce ended Israel's offensive in Gaza two weeks ago, a trickle of rocket and mortar fire has been increasing. Israeli retaliation, including brief ground incursions and bombing runs aimed at rocket launchers and smuggling tunnels, is also intensifying

It's a shame they don't carpet bomb and cluster bomb until nothing is left of Gaza but corpses and smoldering rubble.

hmm... E.B. was thinking that the Pali's shot the rockets because Israel was sending settlers into Gaza. But the settlers were all forcibly removed by Israel back in 2005. Still the rockets and mortars.

Then E.B. said Israel just wanted to kill every man woman and child in Gaza for no particular reason at all. To back up that charge he cited several articles from Israeli media which actually were asking for less harsh treatment of those who were shooting at them.

So, after evacuating all the settlers years ago, after withdrawing their forces that were sent in to quell the rocket and mortar fire, after spending billions of dollars in most US money to try and bribe Fatah over the last many years... what exactly are the Israelis supposed to do to get the rocket to stop falling on Israel?

Move all the civilians to air conditioned tents in Saudi Arabia. Carpet bomb the place. Bull doze the rubble then move the tents back. Any tent the Saudis can provide is much better than the buildings they were living in.

Yet there are no settlers in Gaza. They're gone. Forced to move out by that 'evil' government in Israel.

60 Minutes just did a report on why peace in Israel is so difficult. In this they talk about the settler problem. Watch it HERE

This report agrees with much that Bro. Benincasa is saying about the situation there. It also shows that the settlers did NOT leave in 2005 and are still an issue.
