The Police Were At My House!

My oldest is 11 but she looks 13 was home with the 9 & 7 year old.
They were eating lunch & had not finished & the 2 girls were getting ready to go to a birthday party but we had forgotten to get the card.

I said finish your lunch & Kristin watch things while I run to the store & get the card.
Ryan the 7 year old got a hold of the phone & dialed 911 & he thought he hung up in time (he didn't) & Kristin was mad at him.
A few minutes later a police officer was knocking on the window & she answered the door & was asked if there was any 911 call from this house & was there an emergency?
My son got a short lecture & my kids were all scared to boot.

I got home a few minutes later & was told all of this by Kristin.
I called the police on the non emergency line & apologized & they were understanding in regards to his age.
The only concern they had was that the kids would get so scared that when they need the police they will be too scared to call.

Thing is we had this talk before with our kids & the school told them about 911 being a serious # to call!!!!

Sigh, yup our kids will embarrass us!:blush

Nice try, but NO CIGAR!!!!! :toofunny

Your son reminds me of Dennis the Menace!!!!!! :toofunny

I remember waking up one morning to a loud banging noise. I went to see what it was. My son, 4 years old, was using his daddy's hammer to knock the cabinet door OFF of the vanity!

I asked him why he was doing that? He said, "I didn't have anything to do." :thwak :toofunny

I was at church for choir practice years ago when my son was about 5 and the police showed up at the church. They asked what was wrong and we were puzzled. They said someone dialed 911 from that address. My son knew better, and I didn't believe it was him. When the story came out, there was a naughty 8 yr old that put him up to it!

When it comes to kids the thing that bothers me is this, It isn't the things I know about that concerns me, it is the things I don't know.

My mom went to her grave only knowing a portion of what I did!:D

Tell me about it. lol I'm playing the all knowing mama for as long as I can. I have friends, co-workers, and neighbors who help me out. :D I definitely leave them with the impression that I know far more than I really do. I think my older ones know, but then I find out things they never dreamed I would. Probably lends to caution on their part. :) At least...I hope it does.

Our 6 year old boy did this when I was having our 8th baby. My sister was staying with them. He actually talked to them and told them a car hit the house and hung up. I don't think they understood him. The Police did show up and my sister was quite surprised.
