Sis. Alvear, I want to share this with you....
 

Our church's youth group did the 30 Hour Famine last night and today. The kids were required to raise a minimum of $75 each if they wanted to spend the night at the Epic Center (our youth outreach center). Most of them raised much more than the rquired $75.

Here's the part you will be excited about................

All of that money is being sent to Estutural, Brasil. We partner with a church there and send them money to help feed the people who live and eat at the dumps.

I'm very proud of these kids for doing this. And VERY happy that we are able to help in this small way.

So are you anywhere close to this area?

That is so wonderful. So awesome and I know feeding the hungry is close to the heart of our Savior.
The word perhaps means..structure...Brazil...I am not for sure...see if you can get an address...maybe that is the name of the program.

I would love to find out if they are here in the northeast...perhaps they are for poverty is great in the north and northeast.

The money raised is going to help support the people who live in the trash city, Estrutural. Marcos and Michelle have direct contact with the people and the money from the last 30 hour famine helped buy a horse, buy medicine, and helped rebuild a house that had burned down. The people of Estrutural literally live at the bottom of the dump and many live off of the dump (they pick out food remains, try and sell the junk other people throw out, or simply keep it for themselves)

I have no earthly idea... I am still looking on the net but I think they would have to give you at least the name of a state...what mission they are with and more information.

Who are Marcos and Michelle?

It is true that many people live off and in the dumps here...However I don´t know where this place is but the project is so noble...blessings to you, my sweet friend.

Sis. Alvear,

our church sends support to Marcos and Michelle who live in Brasil. They are from there, working with their own people. Last year we paid for them to come to our town for about a month and really got to know them better. They are such sweet and wonderful people. I emailed Marcos and Michelle when you asked about them. This is the response I received from them today:

yes...now I have a city...I will call them and tell them hi...such a marvelous thing they are going and so happy you all could reach out and help them to help someone else...The love of Christ is ever so great.

Let me know how it goes if you get to meet them. They seriously are sweet and wonderful people. Marcos grew up as a dump kid. He gave his testimony at our church and had everyone in tears by the time he was finished.

Just so you know, Marcos speaks excellent English. Michelle (she pronounces it Michellie) is learning, but doesn't speak it as well or understand as well.
