People Get Ready // Misty Edwards

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMTVzNlb-ms

This is the song that I got my signature from. The last music thread I started got a little heated, so I'll be more careful this time ;). Anyways, I love her music and latest CD. All very powerful music.

Contemporary worship leader. I love her passion. She's amazing in person!

Yeah... not for me.

To me it just feels like a musical drive. IMO... this is more of something that moves people in a way that is very similar to an actual rock or heavy metal concert. The beat, the repetition etc.

I know that I am guilty of the same things in some of the songs I choose. I try to be diligent to choose songs whose value revolve around the impact of the words of the song. I feel that each song has a message and a method. The thing I strive to do is not get caught up in letting the method be my choosing factor.

I can see your point, but personally-I'm against the same thing. I pick music like this because of the powerful lyrics, not the hype.

There are a number of people who do that. To me it bears a sensual undertone to it.

I don't care for it either.
